Our Team

Victoria Saenz serves as the Grants Manager at Breakthrough Birmingham, where she leads our institutional fundraising efforts. Victoria is a first-generation college student who graduated with a BA in International Relations from Stanford University. Victoria strongly believes that transformational educational opportunities can change a young person’s life, and finds true meaning in seeing the life-changing experiences that Breakthrough Birmingham offers Alabama students. Since coming on as Breakthrough’s grant writer in 2022, Victoria increased institutional funding from $173k to $1 million within three years. She has particularly enjoyed seeing how Breakthrough’s organizational culture has created a community of education advocates, from its staff to Teaching Fellows to educators. Victoria is an avid reader, so in her off time she is usually browsing used bookstores, reading at cafes, or writing at home.
